BANDA ACEH, THEACEH.COM – A 5,3 magnitude earthquake hit West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, Thursday, October 18, 2018.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake which struck at 11.29 AM and dit not have the potential to cause a tsunami.
“The epicenter of the quake was at 4.72 North Latitude and 96.21 East Longitude or 30 km Northeast of West Aceh Regency, Aceh, with a depth of 10 km,” wrote the BMKG twitter account on Thursday.
The 5.3 SR earthquake was felt by residents in Lhokseumawe, Bireuen, Meulaboh, Calang and Central Aceh.
